Question: How Can I Save Money in London?
London is a beautiful city with so many sights to see. I was there back in 2002 and I had a great time. But since then the US Dollar to British Pound exchange rate has gone haywire leaving us Americans with around 50 pence to the dollar. That means a 4 Pound beer in London costs about $8. So is it possible to save money on your next visit to London? Or should you just wait until the exchange rate comes back down. Yes, you can save money -- and no, don't wait because I bet the exchange rate will keep going up!
Here's a way to save money in London -- The London Pass. The London Pass is a card that gives you free access to 56 London Attractions around the town. Just choose how long you want to use the card and pay one low price. Then you can use it all around town. From the Tower of London to Windsor Castle, the London Aquarium to St Paul's Cathedral, the London Pass gets you in for free. You also get line-cutting" privileges! This means you avoid the crowds AND save money. That sure would have come in handy at Madame Tussuad's.
Another great tip is to use the public transportation in London. Never drive your car in the city -- it costs too much. Don't use taxis either because they are expensive. The London Underground is perfectly capable of getting you around with low cost. Actually the London Pass has a transportation option where you can add unlimited Tube travel to the already great attractions package. Now that'll save you some cash!
