As little as 6 months ago, the clear cut leader was Bill Gates. No surprise at the top of the world's wealthiest list, Bill has been there for about a decade. He almost reached the $100 billion mark in the dot com bubble but in recent years he has settled in around $60 billion. Behind him was Warren Buffett, again. But in third place this year, when Forbes announced their list was Carlos Slim, a Mexican Businessman. Well, in the past 6 months his wealth has skyrocketed thanks to a boom in his multiple companies and, guess what, he is not the richest person in the world!
Carlos Slim is the world's richest person with an estimated $68 billion, well ahead of Gates!

Ok, time to start checking my geneaology sites to find out if I can claim to be his long-lost relative. You know, in case he has a few hundred thousand to spare.
