Question: What Good is a Tune Up?
I just went through my 60,000 mile car service. It cost over $1000 so the thought of "was it worth it?" crossed my mind once or twice. But when you look at it, you really need to get this maintenance to get your car running. From the simple stuff to oil change and tire rotation, to the more serious business like timing belt service and spark plug replacement, regular maintenance on your car not only keeps you safe, but also saves you money in the long run. It's really an investment you can make on your car. The difference between having the car up and running for 8 years versus 10 years, can be $5000 or more!
Also other service like getting your Auto air conditioning serviced can keep you happy with your car long enough to get a good return on your money. Who keeps a car if the AC is broken? Keep it all in good working order and keep your car as long as you can. It can save you a lot of money.

Except for the basic oil change & tire rotation, I always feel like I'm getting ripped off having my vehicle serviced. If it's something more serious like brake work, I make my husband take it in. Sad as it seems, I still feel that women can be and many time are, descriminated against the men's world of vehicle maintenance!
